"Comfort Keepers" are caregivers that help to "keep" seniors in the "comfort" of their home. Comfort Keepers provide non-medical, in home care, including assistance with the activities of daily living such as homemaking, companionship, personal care and transportation. Comfort Keepers are dedicated to building a positive, "interactive" relationship with their clients, while working independently in the home.
Comfort Keepers caregivers are supervised and supported by the Client Care Coordinator/Nurse.
Comfort Keepers office management answers our main telephone 24/7 in order to respond to client and caregiver needs in case of emergency.
Comfort Keepers office in Bloomfield, CT accepts written applications on an on-going basis. Hourly caregiver assignments may be offered both weekdays and weekends, based on client request. Flexible caregiver availability a plus. Employment is on an-at will basis and there is no guarrantee of hours.
CNA, PCA, HHA, and Homemaker-Companions are encouraged to apply. Experience providing personal care, transfer assistance and caring for dementia clients preferred.
Hourly caregivers must have reliable transportation to and from assignments. In order to provide transportation, caregivers are required to be a licensed driver for more than 3 years and have a current CT Motor Vehicle License and current automobile insurance. Approved caregivers may drive the client in either the client car or in the caregiver car. Caregivers are reimbursed for miles driven in the caregiver car for the client as part of the assignment.
Full hiring process required, including written application, interviews, employment history verification, reference checks, background checks and orientation.
While working with Comfort Keepers clients, caregivers are insured under general liability and worker's compensation. Comfort Keepers utilizes a professional payroll service, with all applicable taxes paid. Both written timesheets and telephone time clock are required to be completed for each assignment.
All caregivers must meet bonding and insurance requirements throughout the time they work for Comfort Keepers.
Caregivers require good communication skills, ability to follow policy, cooperate with others, and build a positive relationship with the client while working independently in the home.
Physical effort such as standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, turning, lifting, pushing, required within company policy.
Comfort Keepers office is located in Bloomfield, CT and has been serving clients "East and West of the River" since 2003. Comfort Keepers serves clients residing in two territories - Bloomfield, CT area and Manchester, CT area.
"West of the River" assignments may be located in towns such as Bloomfield, West Hartford, Windsor, Avon, Simsbury, Canton, Farmington, Granby, Newington, and more. "East of the River" assignments may be located in towns such as Manchester, Vernon, South Windsor, Wethersfield, Glastonbury and more.
Caregivers may accept assignments offered to them in either the Bloomfield CT or Manchester CT territory.
All of our clients and caregivers are serviced through our office in Bloomfield CT.
